Hide & Seek

My favorite game as a kid was hide and seek. Even a rainy day could not spoil such fun. Improvising, we would hide under the covers. Under the covers to us meant out of sight, out of mind. Under the covers we found safety, we found security, we found a place of rest.

We too, can find that hiding place, that secret place in the center of God’s will.  Just as troubles and the trials of life seem to be closing in, don’t run from your hiding place, STAY THERE and wait until the Holy Spirit directs you, prompting you to move further. When you start to complain, run in twenty different directions and make a lot of noise that’s not faith or trust, it’s the sound of disbelief.  You don’t have the power to deliver yourself.  If you could deliver or save yourself there would not be a need for God.

In the game of hide and seek there was always someone that would start laughing or talking, exposing our hiding place.  Applying these natural principles to the spiritual, we have to train our ears and our hearts to be quiet, with trust, knowing that God will keep us protected.

In quietness and confidence shall be your strength. Under His wings, you’ll find peace, you’ll find comfort, you’ll find strength, you’ll find love in His arms.  Trust His plan and He will be your shield and buckler.

REFLECTIONS:

Psalm 63:1 (KJV)
O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;

Psalm 91:1 KJV
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

Isaiah 30:15 (KJV)
For thus saith the Lord God , the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.
