Wise as Serpents, Harmless as Doves

It’s human nature to operate with the mindset of self preservation. I would even go as far to say that it’s even deeply embedded within the most basic level of our genetic makeup. It’s encoded in our responses; it’s our instinct. This animalistic instinct drives our inner man to pursue in fight or flight mode. In the battle over wills, one has to survive. But thanks be to God who causes us to always triumph. We’re victorious in Christ, but this is contingent up on us having total faith, total dependence, and total reliance in God.

After all, we’re not ignorant of the devil’s devices. The devil is an opportunist. He takes his time to set snares and traps, but your praise and worship will set up ambushments against the enemy.

Each saint of God is equipped with a small portion of discernment. However, it requires one to be totally in tune to God. Being in tune has nothing to do with emotionalism. Some people live their spiritual lives as babes dependent upon a feeling.

When one comes to the point of maturity, spiritual eyes are open and then the snare that the adversary set will not harm you. God never said that the weapons wouldn’t form, but God Almighty promised that they wouldn’t prosper.

Time and time again, we will be tested. That is when you will see where you’re strength lies. Be encouraged and know that God’s strength is made prefect in our weakness. So, no matter the battle, we can stand. Because God reigns, we can reign too.

(KJV)2 Corinthians 2:14
Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

(KJV)Matthew 10:16
Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

(KJV)2 Corinthians 2:11
Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.
